Old school weekend
Hi.
This may be a stupied idea, but i think its something many people want.
I would like a "Old school weekend" where they return certain elements of the game that they nerfed , back.
I dont mean like the "Fear me" nerf and stuff like that, but The Minion Master limit (max 10 minions) and probably a lot of other stuff that other people miss
OR since minions got nerfed because of MF (minion factory)(i think) maybe Make some PvE-ONLY minion skills without limit/higher limit.
What this really comes down to is that i remember how fun it was running around in proph with many minions and how many of my friends stopped playing when they nerfed it (2 of them plays wow now >_> )
Im sorry for my english if there are a lot of errors in there
peace

It may be the cynic in me, but I don't see it happening.
One of many reasons is game mechanics. Since certain elements have been taken out of the game lots of things have change. It could really make some major glitches and exploits that would compromise the economy and stuff.
Another big reason is, well, because it's nerfed for a reason. Why would they bring back elements to the game that they purposely took out to improve the playing experience for the community as a whole?
As time passes in a game, the creators alter the game to fix bugs, errors, and balancing issues constantly....for better sometimes and for worse sometimes, but none the less. Some features of the game that were broken or unfair of for whatever reason they are no longer in there are best to stay out. Why back track?

I'd love to go back to the old minion factory. God that was fun.
But I agree, I don't ever see it happening, and it's not really something we desperately need to happen, even for a weekend.

Because many of the things were really fun and if it was just for a weekend it wouldent make the game unbalanced.
i agree with the fact that this could make glitches, but what couldent?

The only way they could do something like that and not instantly have it turn into an exploit-fest, is through an instance.
Basically you'd have a bonus-mission type instance where you could visit an area where the world behaved like it did in, say, May 2005 - but you would not be able to bring any gold or items back with you.
Perhaps possible, probably mildly fun, but probably not worth the amount of work it'd require.

for example, in 1 weekend, anet can put the game into "normal", no hard mode, normal drop , no fixed skills and more..
sounds good, and will have fun i think...
this is my point of view

Yes, it would be amazing, those were the best days of GvG, but we'd need to get EvIL out of the army to come back and play.
But... sadly... I can't see it happening.

Only if they take sins, rits, dervs, and paragons out of the game for the weekend with an error message, and lock any new additional skills factions on. Otherwise old minion numbers + overpowered skills = autowin PvE weekend. They might as well have a weekend where everyone has r6 koabd

It'd have to be handled as with the BMP's - you assume the role of one of a selection of archetypes which existed at the time. A mending wammo, say, or a smiting monk, they were godly .
Hmm... Perhaps you could become one of the Henchmen? Alesia with orizon and healing breeze, or Orion with flare and firestorm...
The instance could then flesh out the story of the Henchmen prior to the player resurfacing after the searing.
And when you'd completed the mission and returned you could trade in, say, Stefans story for a purple Flaming Dragon Sword - that was top of the line in those days.

yea, that would probably be the best way to do it, but it would require a whole lot extra work. Maybe some of the old prophecies maps could be used, but with a quest as goal (like kill 40 minotaurs to gather a army large enough to kill The Über Dying nightmare, or something like that; with increasing numbers of minotaurs in each group) with some rewards that could be fun ( Prince Rurick's Dragon Sword, Warmaster something's War Hammer, etc)

Nah.. Got it all wrong, the good 'ole Minion Factory was:
2 Rezmers (Me/Mo)
2 MMs (N/Mo)
2 Saccers (N/x)
I think that was it back then?.. Can't remember. That's something along the lines of what I ran anyway in Tomb of Primeval Kings (before it was Heroes' Ascent).
